What’s new
Every update you’d notice, newest first.
v1.46 ·
- Players linked to their name on the roster can record scores and use the Matchmaker without a recorder code, and they get the same Share buttons recorder-code holders do (This Week, Sessions and milestones).
- Admins and co-admins see who recorded each game, and who edited it, in the Match log.
- Downloads (matches as CSV, the whole group, and the ⤓ CSV button) are now for the club's admin on the paid plan.
- Deleting or detaching a club stops its plan renewing; paid access lasts until the period already paid ends. Anyone who can view a club can pay for its plan, and a free club's player card now says "This month" instead of "All-time".
v1.45 ·
- The Matchmaker now says how its search went in plain words, like "Searched for 20 seconds; best schedule found."
v1.44 ·
- Try PickleLore without signing up: on the Demo Lore club, anyone can run the Matchmaker, record scores and see the standings and This Week update. Nothing is saved, and it's one tap to start your own group.
v1.43 ·
- Admins can rename a player in Roster & Data, and “What happened” records the change. Adding a name that’s already on the roster now warns you first, with “Add anyway”.
- Stat cards are readable on every club’s colors, and Appearance has a new “Card color” option. The admin badge and the top player’s gold border are easier to see.
- Players with the same name are told apart in the claim picker, and an admin gets one email per claim. Withdrawing a claim now asks first.
- The Demo Lore club plays a fresh session every Tuesday and Thursday.
v1.42 ·
- Admin on a phone opens as a list of sections, with a “← All sections” bar to get back; the Roster shows each player as a card.
- Upgrade notices are solid and readable on every club’s colors; the Players page’s gold and amber follow your club’s colors where they stay readable.
- Clearer claim and sign-in wording, a proper “page not found” page, Share at the top of the rotation, and Analysis fits a phone.
v1.41 ·
- Wording across the app now says ‘session’ instead of ‘night’, since not every group plays in the evening.
v1.40 ·
- Your club now has its own time zone: Admin → This Group → “Time zone”. Existing clubs are set to Eastern; a new club starts with its creator’s. The club’s day — standings, the free plan’s month, share cards and session reminders — now turns over at your club’s midnight, and reminders arrive at about 10 am your time.
- Record manually now opens on today’s date where you are, even late in the evening.
v1.39 ·
- “So far” and “How this session moved things” are now off until your club turns them on: Admin → Play → “Show ‘So far’ between rounds” and “Show ‘How this session moved things’”. Admins and co-admins can switch each one.
v1.38 ·
- The Matchmaker and the rotation generator now always use the number of courts you set, and everyone else sits out. Before, a number you had just typed could be missed when you pressed Generate.
- Under the round you’re playing, the Matchmaker shows how the session is going: who has sat out, partnerships and pairings used, and games each so far, split into doubles and singles when you play both. The summary at the bottom shows the same.
- New on paid plans: “How this session moved things” shows each player’s win % before and after this session’s games, for this season or all time.
v1.37 ·
- Set the days your club plays every week, with a start time, and upcoming sessions fill in by themselves, up to 8 ahead, so players can say they’re in weeks early. A date you cancel or remove stays that way.
- Sessions can have a start time. It shows on your club page, in the Matchmaker and in reminder emails.
v1.36 ·
- Anyone who can see your club now sees who's in for the next session. Players who've chosen to stay off the standings are counted, not named.
- If someone says they're in or out after the Matchmaker has made the schedule, it tells you, and can add or remove them and recalculate in one tap.
v1.35 ·
- Cancel a session when not enough people can come: it stays on the list marked cancelled, and players who said they're in can be emailed.
- Admins can schedule a session straight from the Matchmaker.
- Sign in and Sign out now sit in every club's header.
v1.34 ·
- In the Matchmaker, editing a court can now swap players within that court, never moves anyone off a court that's already recorded, and works on draft schedules days ahead.
- The Matchmaker now flags anyone set to play singles or sit out two rounds in a row, with a button to recalculate the rest.
v1.33 ·
- On a phone, the admin sections are now a menu that names where you are and lists every section, and the club's sections sit in two rows with names you can read.
v1.32 ·
- Start a group from your rotation and tonight's scores and remaining games come with you, even if you finish signing up on your phone.
v1.31 ·
- The Matchmaker and the rotation generator no longer put anyone in singles two rounds in a row, and spread singles pairings so the same two rarely meet again.
v1.30 ·
- New: a free rotation generator at app.picklelore.com/rotation. Type in who's playing and how many courts, and get fair partners, opponents and sit-outs on the same board as the Matchmaker. Record scores as you play, see tonight's standings, and print it or send it to the group chat.
- Start a group from your rotation and your players come with you.
v1.29 ·
- Share your club's standings, and celebrate a player's milestone with a picture made for the group chat.
v1.28 ·
- Share a night or a week: once a game is recorded, 'Share tonight's results' sends your group chat a picture of the night, and night and week links show that picture when pasted.
- Privacy settings now hold everywhere: players off the standings or hidden from head-to-head no longer appear in This Week's recap and highlights, and Roster & Data and My PickleLore explain each setting.
v1.27 ·
- Give a month, get a month: share your club's link from Admin → Setup & Sharing. A group that starts from it gets its first paid month free, and your club gets a free month once they've paid for their first.
v1.26 ·
- Longer admin tabs now have a row of shortcuts at the top that jump straight to each section, and every section has a 'Back to top' link.
v1.25 ·
- Session reminders: the day before a session, players who haven't said whether they're coming get one email with an "I'm in" button. Admins turn them on under Admin → Play. Players can turn them off on My PickleLore, or with the unsubscribe link in any reminder.
v1.24 ·
- Look up your record against anyone in your club on My PickleLore ("You 7–4 vs Sam", with singles and doubles), or see it at the top of their player page when you're signed in. It counts every game you've played against each other.
- Your best partner and toughest opponent on My PickleLore now count all your games, on every club.
- Paid clubs: a full head-to-head page puts any two players side by side, with their record against each other, how they do as partners, the margins, recent form and every game they've played. Open it from Analysis, from your record line, or from Your people.
- New on My PickleLore: Hide me from head-to-head. Other players can't look up their record against you or compare you, and you won't appear in their Your people. Admins still see everything.
- New on My PickleLore: Hide my player page from the public. People outside your club see your name but can't open your page. Club members and admins still can.
v1.23 ·
- My PickleLore is now your dashboard. On clubs that share the Matchmaker, it shows when you're up tonight ("You're up next — round 2, court 1"). It also shows this week's highlights that mention you, the milestones you're close to, your best partner and toughest opponent with your record against each, and your season so far.
- On clubs that share the Matchmaker, admins can make a draft schedule for an upcoming session ahead of time. Everyone can see it, marked "Draft — may change", and it shows when it was last updated. It only changes when an admin regenerates it, and scores are recorded on the day.
v1.22 ·
- Players can now have their own accounts. Tap "Find yourself on the roster", sign in with your email and pick your name. Once a club admin approves it in Roster & Data, you can see your club's stats whenever you're signed in, with no PIN needed.
- Admins can schedule upcoming sessions in Admin → Play, and players tap "I'm in" or "Can't make it" for each one on the Clubhouse, where members can see who's coming. The Matchmaker opens on the next session, and on the day it starts with everyone who's in already selected.
- A shared Matchmaker session that runs past midnight now stays on the board for anyone opening it late.
- A new "My PickleLore" page (🏠 Me in the header) shows who you are at your club, your stats, and your upcoming sessions. If you're in more than one club, you can switch between them there.
- Players can choose "Leave me off the standings" on My PickleLore, and admins can do the same for anyone in Roster & Data. You still play and get picked, and your games still count for the people you played.
v1.21 ·
- A new highlight for someone's best night: "Sam won 5 games on Saturday — their best night yet." It doesn't repeat the night's top player, and doesn't repeat a perfect night.
v1.20 ·
- When the Matchmaker says who serves first, the app now remembers it with the score. That adds three new highlights (winning every game on your serve, winning every game without it, and nights the serve decided) and a "serving first vs. receiving" record on each player page.
- The Matchmaker's "Say who serves first" switch now stays the way your club last left it.
v1.19 ·
- Admins can now say which roster player each admin or co-admin is, in Roster & Data. Their games on a shared Matchmaker then say "recorded by" their name, and a "My player page" button in the header takes them straight to their own stats.
v1.18 ·
- New in Admin → Play: "Share Matchmaker with everyone." When it's on, tonight's schedule shows on every device that opens the Matchmaker, and any of them can record a score. If two people record the same court, only the first score is kept.
- Recorders get the full menu now, and after entering a code they go back to the page they started from.
- Anyone else who can see the club sees tonight's matches and scores, read-only.
v1.17 ·
- A club's "What happened" history now names who recorded or changed each match. When the PickleLore team steps in to help, it says "the PickleLore team", and games entered with a recorder code say "a recorder code".
v1.16 ·
- The Matchmaker can show only players with 5+, 10+, 15+ or 20+ games this season in "Who's playing". Set the club's default in Admin → Play, or change it for one night on the Matchmaker tab. Players added tonight always show, and if fewer than four players would be shown, everyone is.
v1.15 ·
- Recording a Matchmaker score is clearer: each team's score sits beside its names, and the result reads back in words, like "Dan & Steve win 11–8", before you record it.
v1.14 ·
- More highlights: first wins, welcomes for new players, perfect nights, attendance streaks, record turnouts, club match milestones, and regulars meeting for the first time.
v1.13 ·
- A group that needs a PIN but has none set now says so right away, instead of showing a PIN box.
- Groups that don't require a PIN never ask for one; the PIN page goes straight to the dashboard.
v1.12 ·
- Admins can refresh This Week to show everyone a different set of highlights. It goes back to rarest first when a new week starts.
v1.11 ·
- This Week and every session now show one list of highlights, rarest first, each with its own icon.
v1.10 ·
- Choose how many highlights This Week and Sessions show (Admin → Play). The rarest moments come first, and earlier sessions keep every highlight.
v1.9 ·
- New weekly highlights: closest and longest games, who played and partnered the most, first wins as a pair, players back after a break, and a year ago today.
v1.8 ·
- A "What's new" page, linked from the bottom of every page, so you can see what changed and when.
v1.7 ·
- Club admins can add an admin or co-admin straight from the admin page. They're added right away and get an email telling them to sign in.
v1.6 ·
- A Feedback button on every page. Tell us something's broken or suggest an idea in a couple of clicks — no account needed.
v1.5 ·
- The Matchmaker can show who serves first in each game, and spreads serving fairly across the night.
- An option for longer gaps before anyone sits out again, with a note on what it costs.
v1.4 ·
- Pick a theme: a gallery of ready-made color themes for your club, plus suggestions built from the colors you already use, checked for readability.
v1.3 ·
- Unlock a group's full history: $9.99/month or $99/year (two months free). Anyone in the group can pay.
v1.2 ·
- The Matchmaker is much faster, and the last round now fills every court instead of leaving some empty.
v1.1 ·
- Start your own group: sign up, create a group, and a getting-started checklist walks you through adding players and recording your first match.
v1.0 ·
- PickleLore moved to its new home at app.picklelore.com: a faster tracker, the same groups and history, and sign-in by email link. Old links still work.
